The figure of a child as the main character in folk art, although not customary, gains its own statute by the hands of artist Antonio de Oliveira, from Belmiro Braga, Minas Gerais. The child, normally portrayed as secondary in family scenes, is given its own space by this author recalling a child’s entertainment. The fine detail, variety and number of works help rebuild a world in which childhood is confirmed as the time for play, par excellence.
