Inês Rodrigues

Ines Rodrigues was born in 1940 in the village of Alto do Moura, Caruaru, Pernambuco State. Her mother taught her how to model the clay when she was 10 years old. At that same time, she left school to work in the family farming and model figures to sell. Later, with her husband Amaro Rodrigues, she resumed making ceramic figures that were a success: Lampião and Maria Bonita, a trio from the Northeast, band of pipers, and migrants. She was still young when she suffered a stroke, lost her skill and stopped working early.
