The exhibit "Poetic Machines" feartures the meeting of the work of Abraham Palatnik, a pioneer of kinetic art in Brazil, and popular artists Adalton Lopes, Laurentino, Nho Caboclo and Saúba based on the central theme of movement. The exhibition - curated by anthropologist Angela Mascelani, director of the Museum, and Henrique Afonso Costa, a member of the Council of the institution - began a series of dialogues between folk art and contemporary art at the Museum Casa do Pontal. "Poetic Machines" includes six works by Abraham Palatnik (February 19, 1928), of which two are from his private collection and the rest come from the Gilberto Chateaubriand / MAM Rio Collection. Works of artists Adalton Fernandes Lopes (1938-2005), Laurentino (1937 - 2009), Nho Caboclo (? - 1976) and Saúba (1953) are part of the Museu Casa do Pontal collection. The inauguration of the exhibition was attended Abraham Palatnik's and featured a discussion by Luiz Camillo Osorio, critic and Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro.
